Crockpot Applesauce Recipe – A Fall Favorite

This recipe is delicious and makes the house smell wonderful while cooking. Since it cooks in the crockpot, you can work on putting up those fall decorations!

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. Apples, peeled, cored and sliced – I recommend either red delicious or golden delicious apples. These apples soften easily and break down easier when cooking.
  • ½ cup sugar – or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves -optional
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  • Place apples into the crockpot.
  • Sprinkle spices over top and mix
  • Add water to crockpot
  • Place lid on top and set crockpot to high heat for 4 hours
  • After 4 hours, use a potato masher, hand-held electric mixer or wire whisk to reach desired consistency.
  • Cool applesauce completely and store in the refrigerator
